Hamid Dabashi (B. June 15, 1951) is an Iranian Professor of Iranian Studies and Comparative Literature at Columbia University in New York City. He is a distinguished author, having written 25 books translated into many languages including Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Danish, Russian, Hebrew, Italian, Arabic, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Polish, Turkish, Urdu and Catalan. Many of his books are focused around the Islamic History of Iran and the Palestine-Israel conflict. Many of his contributions to Al-Jazeera revolve around the same subjects. Mr. Dabashi often connects Western issues to the Arab World comparing people such as Harvey Weinstein and implementing them as Muslim figures. He speaks with a very critical tone. Most of things Hamid Dabashi writes about involve heavy amounts of criticism and little advice as to how to fix it (i.e. Recent Iranian Youth Protests). Atop of the Mr. Habashi tends to be brash and to the point. He does not spend too much time deliberating issues with all sides, but rather getting straight to the point and providing his stance. (Ex. Anti-Israeli Propaganda). Hamid Darbashi in short is a brash and critical contributor whos audience of mostly Anti-Western and Anti-Israeli readers rally behind his radical religious Islamic ideals and pro-Sharia Law Middle East.
